One of the best ways to enjoy life in Port Stanley is by getting involved in local clubs, activities, and community events. We’ve put together a list of organizations and support services to help you settle in and make the most of everything our village has to offer.

Local Services & Government

Port Stanley is part of the Municipality of Central Elgin, which manages essential services like garbage collection, water, beach maintenance, local roads, and parking. Property taxes are collected by Central Elgin, but a portion also goes to Elgin County, which provides additional services such as libraries, tourism marketing, County roads, and cultural attractions like the Elgin County Heritage Centre and museums.

To make things even more interesting, both Central Elgin and Elgin County offices are located in the same building—in the city of St. Thomas!
